How To:
Defender feeds a diagonal pass into an attacker, the defender from the other side closes down the attacker receiving the ball immediately. The attackers task is to bring the ball under control and take a chance on goal quickly.
Coaching Points:
Quality of first touch, move the ball into space away from the defender. The defender will close down space quickly just like a game situation in the penalty area. Use the space and take the chance when it is available.
Progressions:
Defender plays lobbed pass into attacker that must control and shoot under pressure.
